Radical Ideas: By Adding Sensor Arrays, Postal Trucks Could Become a Nationwide Data-Collecting Network

How to save the waning U.S. Postal Service
By Clay Dillow

Chief Counsel to the Chairman of the Postal Regulatory Commission Michael Ravnitzky proposed an interesting idea to help the Postal Service get back in the black: turn mail trucks into a data-producing nationwide sensor network.
Sensor arrays could even contribute to homeland security
Ah yes Comrade a camera on every street corner, A microphone in every house and a neighbor with a snitch program. Are we there yet? Is it Nineteen Eighty-Four, Mr Orwell where are you. The idea of turning  a mail delivery truck into a mobile surveillance platform just reeks of abuse in waiting. Add to that the thousands and thousands of intelligence analyst that would be needed to even make sense of the information , The police state is well on it's way.

In the article they bring up a lot of good things that they could gain out of the proposed program but in this day and age our continued quest for the end all be all for our problems puts us dangerously close to a complete lack of privacy and ultimately the control of our lives turned over to some unseen entity.
