Legalized Civilian Militia Groups the Answer to Arizona's Border Security Problems?

GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, FOX NEWS HOST: OK, hold onto your seat! Is Arizona about to do it again? Now, first they shook up things with their illegal immigration law, and now Arizona State Representative-elect Jack Harper is pushing to form a militia group in his state.

Jack, in 2007, you passed legislation to create a state-sanctioned militia here in Arizona. The then-governor, Napolitano, vetoed it. You're now going to bring it back. Where are we with that?
I am all for any country controlling their border, without a border you are not a country your a transitional corridor. From what I gather with this proposed bill you would as a private person  volunteer and be placed under supervision of the national guard / border patrol and assist them with their duties. Now for the state to deploy their nation guard on the border would cost millions of dollars that the state does not have and shouldn't have to do in the first place as the federal government is supposed to do this. When faced with tight budgets volunteers could help out in great way as they would not get paid and it adds boots on the ground that are really needed , this does not address the issue of being able to work in the protected areas by the border but it would help.
Ultimately though this problem does not look like it will go away any time soon as this is purely a political issue that the government is scared to death to tackle.
