So 2021 told 2020 to hold my beer

So 2021 told 2020 to hold my beer and that begs the question of what 2022 will bring.

2021 ended up as much of a $hit show as the previous year "14 days to slow the spread" has turned into years now and if the control freaks have their way it will last much longer. We also have the .gov spending money on projects that will not be completed until several years into the future! Are they taking a precautionary outlook in our best interests or do they want to keep a massive amount of peeps on edge over this.

The .gov could not fight it's way out of wet paper bag no matter what party is in office, they have done one thing well though and that is to get the masses to be as divided against each other and be very dependant on big daddy gov. Never should you be more afraid of big government and the last 2 years should be all the proof you need.

If any person in this country can say with a straight face that they honestly believe things in this country are in good working order well I have a bridge to sell you. I have said before that we in this country are living on the shirt-tails of the past, we no longer produce or even lead the way in many new technologies but we import and debt our souls into everything new and shiny and all the while dumbing ourselves down to the lowest common denominator.

I find it hard to predict what will happen in these next few years but I do not see us coming together on much of anything either foreign or domestic. Take your pick on the issues: Civil strife, China, Russia, North Korea, Economics, Venomous Ducks, Disease or Plague, Mother-in-law, Middle East, Food Shortages, all jesting aside the world is a very fragmented place and we are for the most part just along for the ride while a very small few decide what shitstorm gets thrown our way next.

2020 and 2021 has shown us that almost anything can happen and will happen, from lockdowns, shortages, to unemployment, nothing screams vulnerability more. All this and being prepared is still looked down upon but it does seem to be slowly creeping into the mainstream until things get better and then all will be forgotten again. While everyone waits for the "Big one" I am equally concerned with the slow slide that is happening all around us, at the micro-level it may not seem like much but if you look at it in the macro it is clear as day. While the direction of humanity may be clear as day far too many people go out of their way to not see it or outright deny it, everyone wants to feel safe without actually being safe.

If you are still with me after what may be considered a gloom and doom article then great because I never try and leave an article on a sour note, I always try and leave on a better note, That said I will give my opinion on how to make it better. I can not overstate how important location, location, location,  and a primary subcategory to that is GET OUT OF THE CITIES. There are few better things that you can do than put as much distance between yourself and cities.

Cities equal people and there are no other species as ruthless, vile, dangerous, and evil, look at any black Friday shopping event when the doors open and people fight over the television that is half price! just imagine if that was food they were after. If we were in another lockdown with shortages again, think of the toilet paper aisle on steroids. I will not trust my fellow man when times are tough in a city when we are so deep in the new ME ME ME world. To me a city only offers me one thing and that is high-level trauma centers, everything else you can workaround.

Rural living can bring a peace and security level that you just can not get in a city, people again are the focus. Far less people live in a rural setting and those that do want to be there and in my opinion are cut from a different cloth. The bonds you can and will make will be far stronger and by default, you will look out for each other. The advantages of being able to live in a more self-sufficient way will also bring a sense of pride and confidence, we have lost that as a society. Rural living does have it's challenges but life is full of challenges and anyone that puts in an honest effort can meet and surpass any and all challenges thrown their way.

I hope this may spur in some a reflection of where you are in both life and location and help you make good choices that will benefit how and where you live, decisions and actions have consequences that either help or hurt you so choose wisely.

"May you live interesting times" while a famous quote is now an understatement, I would add dangerous but opportunity, much like the red pill or the blue pill..... you decide!

Sunday Misc Thoughts, Debt Ceiling, Jobs and Adult supervision?

For those of you who are familiar ICS-100 or other parts of the incident command system you know about "span of Control" now apply this to our Washington D.C. situation and we are clearly exceeding it on many fronts.
A civilization needs it's rules and laws or else you have anarchy and a pretty poor standard of living, The District of Criminals or D.C. is making decisions for us that for a while now do not seem to be in our best interest, an echo from our past as I seem to recall we fought a war to break free from another ruler a couple of hundred years ago. Are we ready for another change? I think so. I have the feeling that being elected and moving to D.C. has an immediate negative affect on the I.Q. of said elected person, they seem to loose touch quite quickly with those who sent them there and thus fail to represent, Shocker huh. You have all heard that "all politics is local" well it should be but it is not, more and more it seems to be dictated by a few in D.C. that have lost all sense of reality in what it means to be a common working stiff, Oh they think they know whats best for us but do they really?

As is painfully obvious right now these ( Insert Colorful Adjective Here ) have no concept of basic math and therefore have no clue in how to balance a budget hence our growing debt problem, you have to do it, I have to do it, most states have to do it, so why not our government? A common theme running around is that the rich need to pay more or corporations need to pay more, tax this or tax that well good luck with that because the rich already pay the bulk of taxes, corporations pay as well, GE didn't pay anything you say, yes they do but by other means, sales, property, payroll and other forms of taxes, keep in mind though that they employ people, but if you tax them more you will earn less and there product cost will go up and you will have one big vicious cycle.
I have some novel concepts, how about for one we spend less, SHOCKING. how about we stop giving BILLIONS away to other countries, WW2 is over we won, how about we close all of the bases in Europe and Japan and let them be adults and spend their own money of their defense instead of us subsidizing them. Iraq, Afghanistan? we will in now way change thousands of years of culture or religion so why try, if we were to leave today or in ten years the end result will be the same they will both plunge into civil war the minute we leave, the only reason we are still there is that the Big O doesn't want it to happen on his watch.

Entitlements, the nastiest third rail of all, Government promises that they can't keep and should have never made, Social Security I.E. Ponzi scheme on steroids who's time should end, too many people collecting when they have never paid in, not adjusted for inflation or a falling dollar, not adjusted or never meant to support you for twenty or thirty years after you retire. Sorry government was not created to take care of you, your supposed to have a brain for that but we have become lazy and greedy to the extreme as well as dependent on someone else taking care of us and we are now more happy than ever to vote in the people who will give us more of this.

Granted there are still quite a few people out there with their heads screwed on tight but some still fail to recognize the fact that voting for the other party will change anything, I have long ago come to the conclusion that both the R's and the D's are but two shades of the same color yellow, as in chicken yellow and gutless to boot when it comes to dealing with the problems. We have example after example of how countries fail but we seem to at every chance decide to follow their lead down the wrong path, We are the United States we do not know failure, well we are not so United anymore and we will know failure, to what extent is unknown.

Jobs, whats there to say, the numbers are IMHO still under reported , the funk seems to be with us still. There is demand out there for products and service, unfortunately too many people are buying those products that are made in other countries , hell I will be lazy on this one so as to not duplicate a previous post just go here and you can see my thoughts on the situation.

Weighing the public's right to speak

Weighing the public's right to speak

By Steve Bousquet, Times Columnist

Believe it or not, taxpayers have no legal right to speak at public meetings in Florida.  More here.
Oh so were back in the old days where kids are to be seen but not heard huh.  Let me get this right, Public funds being used for public projects minus any input from the PUBLIC!! This kinda sounds like a thug dictatorship to me, you know shut up, sit there and we will tell you whats best for you, kinda reminds me of some of our other government agencies and their regulatory end-run's.  It does appear though that this will be coming under review and maybe overturned and I sure hope so because when you take peoples voice you leave them only a few options, Submission,  political action or rebellion, Take your pick each one has already happened. This thing in Florida is but one little test case and I am sure it is being watched higher up to feel the people out and see how far it could be pushed, I have no doubts that there are a whole lot of other councils and ruling bodies that would love to go about their business without the pesky, annoying, taxpaying public involved to speak up.

Congress is Unlikely to Extend Funds to Ailing States, Good

Congress is Unlikely to Extend Stimulus Funds to Ailing States that run out this year, Good, that's the way is should be. The States and for that matter any business that finds themselves in the red have every right to fail. Failure is good, Yes I said failure is a good thing because without it we limit our ability to learn from it. There are no shortages of failures in both sectors right now and I honestly believe that with the notion of  "Too large to fail" will in the future promote more entities to in fact fail.

Why will more failures come about? Simple question but not as easy to answer, one reason IMHO is that if a Company or say a State knows that they have some kind of a safety net in this case the Federal Government it will promote far riskier decisions, or flagrant promises that they know they can't keep ( pensions come to mind ).

Another problem I see is that States and to a lesser extent large businesses  have made themselves less flexible in how they do their business. Expenses are a large part of what drives an entity being either in the red or the black and they need to be adjusted for the economy they are in. We in a household adjust week to week, when we make less we spend less, and when we make more we usually spend more, the same works for a smaller business. Large Business and States need to adapt better to fit in the environment and while they are larger and therefore move slower the decisions they make need to be the best possible and if they can't, won't or don't make good decisions then they need to fail and let someone else take charge and do it better. Propping up a failed system only invites further bad decision and we all end up paying for it.

Deficit commission’s Simpson calls US seniors the ‘greediest generation’

Deficit commission’s Simpson calls US seniors the ‘greediest generation’

By David Edwards

Wyoming Republican Alan Simpson has a pretty low opinion of the people that have paid into Social Security all their lives and now need something back.
It's not the first time Simpson's comments about Social Security have raised eyebrows. In an August email, he described the program as a "milk cow with 310 million tits!" Read more here.
** BAD LANGUAGE WARNING BELOW**

First of Mr. Simpson you sorry son of a bitch if you and your fellow Republicans and Democrats would get your damn hands out of the social security fund we would have a lot less problems, granted social security should never have been implemented in the first place due to the face that you eventually have more payouts then deposits and it does not include rates of inflation but the biggest problem it that you won't leave it the hell alone. I am far from collecting SS and I know without the shadow of a doubt that I will never see a dime of the money I have paid in and neither will a lot of other people but your sorry backside will be long dead and buried ( natural causes ) before I retire so I guess you will get away with it.

I wonder how it feels to sit up in that powerful chair of yours and look down on us little people who actually work for a living and screw us in front of God and everyone and do it with a straight face. Prick, every single one of you.

Near-Record High See Religion Losing Influence in America

Near-Record High See Religion Losing Influence in America

 by Frank Newport

PRINCETON, NJ -- Seven in 10 Americans say religion is losing its influence on American life -- one of the highest such responses in Gallup's 53-year history of asking this question, and significantly higher than in the first half of the past decade. Rest of the article

I would like to draw a comparison to the loss of religion here versus our decay in our general morals and decency here in the country. It seems that the further we get away from religion the worse we become as a society, Love thy neighbor has become who is my neighbor?

It used to be that a church was a magnet drawing people in, making them closer, stronger, unified, it was a part of your everyday life. Today not so much, most children are not brought up in a church setting anymore, they would rather rot their minds in front of the television or latest game system further distancing themselves from good values.

Monitoring America

5 revelations from the Post’s ‘Monitoring America’ investigation

By Liz Goodwin

The FBI's Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative, or SAR, currently contains 161,948 suspicious activity files, into which authorities can put information they've gathered about the people at the center of the files: employment history, financial documents, phone numbers, photos. In many cases, the people in the files have not been accused of any crime but have attracted the suspicions of a local cop, FBI agent or even fellow citizen. The files have led to five arrests but no convictions, the FBI says. Some of the files are unclassified so that local police agencies and even businesses can submit reports on anyone they deem suspicious. Complete story here
161,948 files on "suspicious activity" My first thoughts were that the number is most likely very low and what constitutes their idea of suspicious activity. I seem to remember that when countries start making lists people usually end up missing or dead after a while but it is usually preceded with harassment, intimidation, reduced freedom or subjectication. Remember folks it's for our safety, but I would ask who is scared of who?

Health group sues McDonald's

Health group sues McDonald's over Happy Meal toys

PORTLAND, Ore. – A California mother of two and The Center for Science in the Public Interest are suing McDonald's Corp. to get the fast-food chain to stop using toys to market meals to young children.

OK so lets shut down the TV stations too who show the adds, lets shut down the printers who make the posters, Lets shut down the sign makers who make the arches.

They say McDonald's is violating several consumer protection laws by marketing its Happy Meals directly to young children because it exploits children's vulnerability.

OK then why have the Managers of the store not been arrested, why not the worked who sold the happy meal, where are the authorities.

"What kids see as a fun toy, I now realize is a sophisticated, high-tech marketing scheme that's designed to put McDonald's between me and my daughters," said Monet Parham, of Sacramento, Calif. "For the sake of other parents and their children, I want McDonald's to stop interfering with my family."

"Between me and my daughters" Hogwash you sorry excuse for a parent, the person that should be between your kids and McDonald's is your sorry excuse for a role model and parent, Do your kids control you, are you that weak that you have to let your kids eat there in the first place, learn the word NO!!!! If you do not want them "INTERFERING WITH MY FAMILY" then don't let them you IDIOT, don't do business with them.
You control your family but you don't you dare try to control mine.

Were from the Government and were here to help you, yeah not so much. New use for technology means that there will be new flaws and it seems like someone has found some. Well it is not a problem for me because I do not fly, I would rather drive versus the indignity of having my naked picture taken or being sexually assaulted by the TSA. At some point in time the American public has to man up and accept that in life you might die, no one lives for ever. Risk is something we take every day, we can trip down the stairs, we could get hit by a car, heck we might die of a heart attack and there is not a damn thing you can do about it.  No form of travel will ever be 100% safe, that's a pipe dream. We have taken one of the already safest forms of travel and done nothing more than muck it up and failed at making us any safer. The one success though has been the utter conditioning of the sheep to a new form do as I say.

Breyer: Founding Fathers Would Have Allowed Restrictions on Guns

"If you look at the values and the historical record, you will see that the Founding Fathers never intended guns to go unregulated, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer contended Sunday."

Values, Morals, Courage and Honor Is what our founding fathers had without question Mr. Breyer. Only here in the last hundred years have the likes of you in the supreme court taken these traits and slaughtered them with your European visions of Utopia. Without FREE MEN and ARMS we would not be a country, Argue that. Oh and if I am wrong, and I am not, do you think you can change a thing? really. An unarmed population is a dead population, This country has practiced it firsthand, we have watched it in other countries. If you want to live unarmed then fine but do not expect the rest of the country to follow suit.

S 510 Food Safety bill is still alive

By Mike Adams - Natural News

The U.S. government wants to know where your greenhouse is. Under Senate Bill 510 — which is now back in the hands of the U.S. Senate after the House hid an amendment in an appropriations bill and passed it last night — American food producers would be required to register their facilities with the U.S. government. The feds, it seems, want a database of food growers so they know who to target for surprise inspections (show me your papers!).

Continue reading the article here: Natural News

little by little, day by day we keep getting proposed laws piled upon us for our own good, we are at something like 300,000 federal laws, find me a lawyer who can even recite 1,000 of them, hogwash I say. Large Agra business's already have huge controls on them, adding more to them only raises prices on you and drives them out of business or puts them into .GOV control.

You having a garden is a threat to them, it means you are not under their thumb for something, I say good as they have enough control as it is, far too much control. Over regulation has killed this country in almost everything we do.  If anything ever was a right growing your own food free from the interference of government should be it. If you want to control something go control the border first as I am sure there are all kinds of fruits and vegetables being snuck over.

Ultimate Year Supply of Freeze Dried Food

School Makes Boy Take American Flag Off Bike

***Warning this story has irked a nerve in me and my bad language has come out, so graphic commentary on my part*** continue or not.

What the He%$, are we this stupid

It seems that there is a whole lot of doom and gloom out on the web, nothing new right? I know that some people out there have a little faith in the recent elections that took place in which the R's made major advancements. Now while they did take back the house and closed the gap in the senate I do not believe it was because they are loved,  but because the D's are just hated more at the moment and that includes a reflection on the current president and his policy's or lack of policy's depending on your views.

Perry calls Social Security bankrupt 'Ponzi scheme'

Quote from Gov. Rick Perry:
“I want people to be afraid not to talk about that Social Security is bankrupt and is a Ponzi scheme and if you've got a young 20-something-year-old, they know for a fact that they're not ever going to see that, So let's fix it.” Complete story here

Me, 20-something-year-old's don't think they will see social security!!! Hell I am pushing 40 and I KNOW I won't see it and there is no way you could convince me that I will. I wish there were a way to opt out or at least give me a private account of my own that I control and that the greedy Government doesn't have their hands in it but want in one hand and you know the rest. Oh well it is all a moot point because I think we will fall apart long before my retirement age.

Pet peeve of the day

I was going to mention this earlier but got sidetracked and I just got reminded of it. I try not to get mad very often but on this subject I can't hold it anymore. I can think of no group more that should get to vote than our active duty military. Right now we have a few states that have dropped the ball on purpose in my opinion in getting these absentee ballots out to the troops, this really pisses me off. Who in the hell do you think you are to do this to the ones that sacrifice the most. I have a solution to this problem, I think we should line these spineless, gutless, chickenshit bastards up and beat them senseless short of death. Piss ant bastards!!!

Thoughts on the American economic circular firing squad

I have touched on this concept a few times in the past in several different ways and my opinion on how well we Americans like to deliberately screw ourselves up remains unchanged. One area in particular that I do not think many people think through is the vicious cycle that we are in with regards to our economy, at this point in time who or what event caused it is not important to me but the solution in getting out of it is!  I have no faith in our government or any other entity for that matter to get us out of it, for that matter I see it as a people issue, that's you and me folks. We have to fix this problem, yes it is a big problem, yes it take some sacrifice and yes if we do not fix it we will pass it on to our children to deal with in the future, that is if we have one..

OK in the simplest terms one problem I see that puts us in that circular firing squad with the economy is for example Joe schmuckatelli  ( sorry Joe ) is either unemployed or underemployed and has filed for unemployment insurance. Joe now with a reduced income tightens his belt to make ends meet, We all do this right? we all want the best price we can find on no matter what we shop on, we compare, we look for the deal. Now we do it even more to stretch the dollar and that is where most people leave it, right there with the lowest price for that product. This is where we have our problem and how we screw ourselves, Do you know where the product was made? Do we even care? Sadly most people do not know or worse yet even care they are just out for the best price, Best price on the face anyway but we fail to look at the overall cost or the human cost.

Consider this, Joe used to work in a manufacturing plant making toasters ( substitute any consumer product ) As demand for this toaster went down people started to get laid off now you know people suddenly did not decide to give up their toast, What happened? well someone in another country decided to make that same toaster but the labor they use to make it with only costs them about a dollar a day so therefore the overall cost for this toaster in your local department store is much lower that the toaster Joe produces. Lower cost in a bad economy means people are more willing to buy a cheaper product both in cost and maybe quality. Now if people go out and buy more of the toaster that is made out of the country versus the toaster made in your country you will eventually end up with that person in this case Joe being laid off because his product is no longer in as high a demand, that means he will need his unemployment check or maybe food stamps so what does that toaster really cost you?

Now I know some people will scream protectionism or that in some way a job created overseas will create a better job over here or that we will switch to a technology/ service economy but I will disagree. Why I will disagree is that not everyone is cut out for a technology job or a service job, take your pick. I hate to say it but there are a lot of people out there that have limited skills and have no desire to make better of themselves and therefore they will fit into a certain low level job market. This is not good nor is it bad, it is their choice to do as they wish and I would much rather buy a product that they make and keep them employed versus someone outside of the country. I believe that this should also apply to other countries too, they should take care of their own countrymen first as well.

The bottom line here is that where the product was made is important. Do you want your money to stay in in your country and be paid out as a salary of one of your countrymen or do you want it to leave the country and eventually hurt a worker here?
